I have a question, could you please tell me what you mean:

“How to recover your spirit: Don’t sin. Don’t miss the mark.”

by ‘don’t sin’ ? 🙏

hi Ingrid, of course. Thank you for asking. Truly.

To my knowledge, the root of the world "sin" is to "miss the mark."

So the "Don't sin" = "Don't miss the mark."

The question is then, what is the "mark" or "target"?

For me at the simplest level, the target is our vision, our goal, our dream of the future we work towards. So every time we are distracted, every time we turn away from walking the path we set for ourselves is us missing the mark.

Its related to the phrase, "without a vision, the people perish." We need purpose and a mission and vision to pull us together and forward.

In a deeper sense, if we can hear God's voice. That small quiet voice, and choose not to follow it, it is also "missing the mark". Perhaps in a more profound and impactful way. Because we "know", yet we don't do. And in my experience, we get our ass handed to us for it in those circumstances.

As I've only started reading the Bible recently, I'm seeing more and more. And obviously the Bible has Gods rules, not mine. If you believe that God loves us and wants the best for us, then "not sinning" is one of God's instructions to live the best life we can. But we are human and we all sin, even the "best" of us. This is where Jesus plays an even more profound role. It is truly mind blowing. Its a longer explanation i will write a post about one day. Soon. It is just my understanding right now and it grows and deepens as i read more. If it changes dramatically, i will write about it.

Hope that helps, take care.

Robert

Thank you so much. Glad it landed and sparked something.

It has taken a long time for me to keep working to the core of LBT and what it represents. Its gone through layers of explaining but the core has always remained.

It's your spirit, your life. And we need to take command of it, recover it for "life".

and its all by the grace of God. :)
