How to defeat The Matrix, and still thrive.
In order to look forward with a new lens and new possibility, we need to consider what caused the problem in the first place.
This is what I believe to be the simple truth of what the matrix really is, its root cause, and the simple solution.

Many talk about the war of light and dark, good and evil. Others talk the “deep state” or “the matrix” to describe the system of people and companies that seem to run the world.
Enslaving us in a neo-feudal society.

For years I thought of ‘the matrix’ as a network of people, companies, secret societies, spy agencies, governments, banks, and NGO’s all working together to control the world.
The battle to defeat them seemed insurmountable. It seemed an impossible task.
Did we need a Neo to do all the heavy lifting for us?

Or did we need a “V” to bring the mass revolution?
It felt helpless, and almost hopeless.
Almost.

What I offer here is what I believe to be the simple truth of what the matrix really is, its root cause, and the simple solution.

The Matrix is not some external secret society. It is not a discrete, identifiable network of people, companies, agencies, governments, banks and NGO’s. Sure they exist, but that is not it.
That is the illusion of it.
It is exactly what they want us to believe.
And rely on us believing it to maintain their power.
And even more accurate would be talking about, the most senior bankers (the ones no one even knows the names of, the ones in the background). No, not even they run the world. You do.

The Matrix is in you. It is in each and every one of us.
Some more than others. Some surrender to its allure and live in its darkness. Like vampires feeding on the life force of everyone else.
I will say that again. The matrix is in you. It is in each one of us.
Is a company by itself evil? No. It is about the people and values in it.
The people running it might be bad and that flows down to everything.
Yet other companies, are full of people that strive to do the right thing, and do. The odd person here or there might be a bad egg, who gets found out and eventually forced out.

The matrix is you and me when we compromise right values, the truth, and God’s laws.
And bit by bit over the centuries, as we compromised those values, the matrix grew inside people. It became normal, and it spread to more and more people.
A few knew how to exploit it and they did. Others discovered how to exploit it, and it seemed easy, so they joined the club. Until eventually we live in a fallen world.

The Matrix as an all powerful entity is a massive illusion they rely on.
They rely on people spreading doom and gloom.
They rely on people talking about how ‘we’ have no power, and that we need some other person to save us. So many do nothing and wait in silent fear.
It is not ‘those’ psychos, it is us. It is every time we compromise right values, Gods laws and truth.
And like a vampire, if we look in the mirror and see nothing. If we can’t self reflect, we are part of the problem.

How do we defeat the matrix?
Live by God’s laws, free speech, and truth.
Some simple cliff notes, that if we are honest about, will move the needle a lot:
never lie, never cheat, never steal
no whining, no complaining, no excuses
do unto others as you would have them do unto you
stay vigilant, but withdraw all energy from narcissistic people, companies, and social media accounts (eg. click bait media accounts are life sucking)
stay vigilant, withdraw energy and time from perpetual doom and gloom people
do not withdraw to a cave. It is just a new prison.

No matter how small it is, every lie counts.
Same with cheating and stealing. And it’s not only about stealing things. It is about stealing time and energy. It is about manipulations we deploy to get what we want.
If we all just got a few percent better at each of the items listed above, the matrix would be almost powerless and we would be living in a very different world.

And the other important part of this is, it does NOT mean some total collapse of civilization. That will only happen if we let it, by being helpless wanting government or someone else to save us.
Some companies and organizations will (and should) disappear. Most will strengthen and new ones will form. It will be more rapid and organic than we can imagine. It is actually very exciting.

The key to it all is: radical self-responsibility.
We all must look in the mirror and self-reflect.
If we can’t do that, perhaps we are the vampire :)
